the approach

My Approach and Methods

I use evidence-based approaches from my training, grounded in a biblical worldview. The approach is from the inside out. The methods I draw on include:

  • Cognitive behavioral and cognitive processing therapy
  • Motivational interviewing
  • Solution-focused therapy
  • Reality, or choice, theory
  • Dialectical behavior–informed therapy
  • Schema therapy
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Anger management
  • Faith-based and biblical counseling

One of my mottos: if it causes a problem, then it is a problem.

Is this for you?

the why

Why I Do This Work

I entered this field in 1994, working with adolescents, gang members, and people with co-occurring and behavioral issues. Since then I have worked in medication-assisted treatment, probation and parole, jails, community services boards, drug court, and inpatient and outpatient programs.

My vision is simple: to proclaim liberty to the captive. I believe where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. I am genuine and upfront, direct with compassion. I will meet you honestly, help you see where you want to go, and walk with you to get there.
